GEARCASHOUT

Frequently Asked Questions

What equipment does GearCashOut buy?
We buy a range of used and new equipment, including drones, action cameras, digital cameras, lenses, video equipment, audio equipment and selected accessories.
Do you buy equipment other than drones?
Yes. GearCashOut is not limited to drones. We are expanding our buying service to cameras, action cameras, video and audio equipment. Items that are not yet covered by our instant-quote system can be submitted for manual valuation.
Can I get an instant quote for everything?
Not yet. Instant quotations are currently available for selected DJI drones. Other equipment can be considered for a manual valuation.
Do you buy used equipment?
Yes. We consider used equipment in a range of conditions. The condition, age, model and completeness of the equipment can affect its value.
Do you buy damaged or non-working equipment?
Yes, depending on the item and its condition. Damaged or non-working equipment may still have value for repair, refurbishment or parts.
Do you buy GoPro and other action cameras?
Yes. GoPro, Insta360, DJI Action and other suitable action cameras can be considered for valuation.
Do you buy cameras and lenses?
Yes. Digital cameras, mirrorless cameras, DSLRs and lenses can be submitted for valuation. Items outside the current instant-quote system will normally require a manual valuation.
Do you buy video and audio equipment?
Yes. Selected video and audio equipment, including suitable microphones, recorders, gimbals, monitors and related equipment, can be considered for purchase.
How does the Instant Quote work?
For supported DJI drones, you select the model, package and condition and provide the requested information. The system uses those details to calculate an initial purchase price.
Is the Instant Quote final?
No. An instant quote is based on the information and photographs supplied. The equipment is inspected when received, and the final offer may differ if its condition or contents do not match the information provided.
What happens when you receive my equipment?
We inspect the equipment against the information and photographs supplied. For DJI drones, checks can include the model, serial number, flight time, battery cycles, condition, damage, package contents and unbound status.
What if the final valuation is lower?
You can accept the revised offer or reject it. If you reject the revised offer, your equipment will be returned to the address supplied during the process.
What happens if I reject the final offer?
Your equipment is returned to the full return address you supplied during the process.
Do you buy controllers separately?
Yes. Controllers and selected accessories can be considered separately or as part of a complete equipment package.
Do you buy batteries separately?
Yes, selected batteries can be considered separately. For DJI drones, battery type and cycle count can affect the valuation.
Do you buy older DJI drones?
Yes. Older DJI drones can still have value depending on the model, condition, completeness and current demand. Some older or specialist models may require a manual valuation.
Do you buy factory-sealed equipment?
Yes. Factory-sealed equipment can be considered for purchase, subject to verification of the item and its condition.
Why do you need flight-time information?
For supported DJI drones, flight time provides an indication of use and wear and can be considered when calculating the valuation.
Why do you need battery-cycle information?
For DJI drones, battery cycle information helps us assess battery usage and condition as part of the valuation.
Why do you need an unbound screenshot?
For supported DJI drones, an unbound screenshot helps confirm that the equipment is not still linked to a DJI account and can be transferred for resale.
Why do you need my full address?
Your address is needed for the buying and return process and to provide shipping or return instructions where applicable.
How do I send my equipment?
After accepting an offer, you will receive instructions for the next stage of the process. Shipping and collection arrangements will depend on the equipment and the buying service available at the time.
